SKADEC GmbH – your system supplier for efficient, high-quality chillers and heat pumps. We have been developing and testing innovative chillers and heat pumps at our headquarters in southern Germany for several years. We prefer to use the natural refrigerant propane (R290) and other low-GWP refrigerants such as R1234ze. SKADEC is your strong partner when it comes to natural refrigerants. Our innovative chillers and heat pumps are operated with the natural refrigerant propane (R290). They are an environmentally friendly and energy-efficient solution and also a sustainable alternative to conventional chillers and heat pumps that run on HFC refrigerants. All R290 chillers are optionally available with a free cooling coil. At low ambient temperatures, free cooling replaces compression refrigeration technology, resulting in a high increase in energy efficiency.

By this form of energy-efficient refrigeration CO₂ emissions can be reduced sustainably and future-proof. In addition, our refrigeration systems, cold water and cold brine units have a low GWP (Global Warming Potential).

In the refrigeration and air conditioning technology CO₂ emissions are composed of direct and indirect emissions. By using natural refrigerants such as R290 (propane), R744 (CO₂), NH3 (ammonia), direct CO₂ emissions can be drastically reduced. Indirect emissions are minimized by efficiently operated chillers. Intelligent control concepts provide year-round cooling according to demand and reduce both power consumption and operating costs.

Together with independent engineering offices for safety technology and experts, we have developed a safety concept that ensures the safe operation of the plants. Our water chillers with propane (R290) are equipped with gas sensors, housing ventilation and EX-protected components. By additionally networked systems within the machine, we guarantee you the highest operational safety. Typical applications for air-cooled propane (R290) heat pumps and chillers are industry, residential and office buildings, retail, hotels, public buildings and finally the storage of chilled goods.
